Ms. Parimala Tamang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of MCA at Sikkim Manipal University – Center for Online and Distance Education. She has over six years of teaching experience, including one year as Guest Faculty and one year as Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Applications, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, along with four years as PGT (IT) at Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School (SIBIN Group), Gangtok.
Her areas of expertise include Image Processing, Computer Networks, and Machine Learning. Her research focuses on digital colposcopy image analysis for early cervical cancer detection. She has published several research papers in reputed journals and conferences, including Expert Review of Medical Devices, Springer Nature Switzerland, and the Journal of Image and Graphics.
She received the Best Paper Presentation Award at the International Conference on Advancements in Smart Computing and Information Security (ASCIS 2024).
