Fake online programmes with misleading abbreviations

Some individuals/organizations are offering online programmes/courses with acronyms/abbreviated forms similar to the higher education system's recognized degree programmes. One such programme to which the attention of the Commission has been draws is '10 Days MBA'.

Commission decision regarding prior approval/recommendation/NOC required from AICTE for offering Programmes under OD and/or Online mode from academic year 2024-25

UGC (ODL Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020 stipulates that the Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) shall have prior approval or recommendation for the programmes falling under the ambit of the respective statutory or regulatory authority or regulatory council for offering the programmes in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and/or Online mode, while submitting an application to the Commission.

Public notice regarding AICTE approval for online programs

AICTE as per its policy, do not permit Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Courses in Diploma/Degree/Post Graduate Degree in Engineering and Technology, Planning, Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Applied Arts and Crafts, and Design.
